THE PROJECT
The Mentoring Project seeks to respond to the American crisis of fatherlessness by inspiring and equipping faith communities to mentor fatherless youth.
We want to see the church stand in the gap on the issue of fatherlessness. With a new found focus on mentoring, we believe that the American church could effectively shut down prisons, curb youth suicide, and reduce homelessness and change this story.

THE BOOK
Drawing from culture, stories, and his own personal experience, John Sowers presents the desperate reality of fatherlessness in his generation. Fatherless Generation is a hard-hitting, descriptive look at this issue, showing how awareness, compassion, and mentoring are the keys to writing new stories of hope.

JOHN
John Sowers is President of The Mentoring Project in Portland, Oregon. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. He went to and graduated from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. John’s first book, Fatherless Generation: Redeeming the Story is available now!
